Eden soldier to be featured in 60 Minutes interview
EDEN - An Eden man will be featured Sunday in a "60 Minutes" broadcast about the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division stationed in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Anthony Barnes of Eden is a member of the unit that CBS war correspondent Lara Logan reports on, said CBS News spokesman Kevin Tedesco.
"60 Minutes" spent a month with soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division, according to a news release. The broadcast will include combat footage, including a firefight from September.
The soldiers' base is near the Pakistan border, and it has been struck with rockets and mortars at least 30 times since March, according to the news release.
The show will air at 7 p.m. Sunday on CBS.
