GREENSBORO - A man wanted by Guilford County deputies on charges of an impersonating a police officer was arrested two weeks ago in Winston-Salem, the sheriff's office reports.

David Dale Anderson, 35, was arrested after a resident submitted a tip to Crimestoppers, deputies said.

Deputies said Anderson had portrayed himself as a police officer, private investigator and a Blackwater operative to defraud people of property in change for protection or while making false arrests.

Anderson's photo ran in the News & Record's Guilford County's "most wanted" feature on Sept. 29.

He is the 56th suspect to be arrested, found or turned in since the paper began the feature in February.
