GREENSBORO — Two men failed to rob a restaurant on Spring Garden Street on Thursday night partly because of a possible language barrier.
At 11:26 p.m. Thursday, according to Greensboro police, a man entered Taqueria El Azteca at 4131 Spring Garden St. and asked for a glass of water.
As a restaurant employee went to get water, a second man entered the business with a gun.
The armed man demanded money, but another store employee said she did not understand what he wanted. The suspect fired a shot which hit no one. The two suspects — Greensboro police described them as "apparently frustrated" by this point — left the business without any cash.
The two men were picked up by a third man who was driving an older car, possibly a gray Volvo sedan.
Police described the first suspect as a black man with a dark complexion and a thin build who stands about 5-foot-8. He wore a white toboggan. The second suspect is a black male in his 20s with a dark complexion who also is about 5-foot-8. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and a white bandanna over his face. Police had no description of the driver.
Anyone with information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
