Why Ragsdale won: The Tigers outgained the Bulldogs 264-23 in the first half as they jumped out to a 23-0 lead. Ragsdale held Trinity to zero yards passing and not much more on the ground. The Tigers defense also forced turnovers on three straight possessions, which led to 17 points.
Stars: Trinity - RB Charles Thomasson, 15 carries, 164 yards; RB Donovan Smith, 25 carries for 100 yards; QB Tim Romer, 66 yards passing, 2 TDs passes, 1 rushing TD; Trinity, DB Ryan Ballard and DB Angelo Dunn, one interception each.
The play: On the first play after an interception by Trinity, Ragsdale came up with its own pick as Nick Mearitz intercepted a Rhyne Kivett pass. Ragsdale went on to score on three straight possessions to take control.
What they said: "We moved the ball all night but in the second half we just shot ourselves in the foot. Two interceptions and a fumble - is that what it was? You can't do that. If we score three times there's a big difference in 44-8 or whatever. My hat goes off to them. They made the plays, they caused the interceptions, they caused the fumble. They played too." - Ragsdale coach Tommy Norwood on Ragsdale's four turnovers, three of which came after intermission.
What they said, II: "We'll work hard Monday on getting it right, I'll promise you that. If you're going to play for us you're not going to make mistakes." - Norwood on his team's turnovers.
Records: Ragsdale 8-0, 3-0; Trinity 3-5, 2-1.
