GREENSBORO — Going downtown this weekend?
Budget a little extra time to get from place to place. There will be a lot of extra people around.
N.C. A&T estimates more than 25,000 alumni and Aggies football fans will attend Homecoming events this weekend, and Aggie Fanfest will be the focal point.
Aggie Fanfest will be held today through Sunday at War Memorial Stadium on Yanceyville Street, near the A&T campus.
The family-friendly event will include carnival games and rides, food vendors and live music. It runs from 11 a.m. to midnight today, 7 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Aggie Fanfest also will serve as the primary viewing spot for A&T’s Homecoming parade Saturday.
The parade, which starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, will assemble on Murrow Boulevard and travel down Murrow, East Lindsay Street and end at the corner of East Lindsay and Laurel streets.
There are five performance stops along the route.
Time Warner Cable will show a taped broadcast of the parade on Channel 58 at 1 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.
