Sports Illustrated Web site features dancer from Elon
Sports Illustrated magazine's SI on campus Web site highlighted UNC-Chapel Hill Dance Team member Lauren Joyner from Elon as its cheerleader of the week Oct. 2.
Joyner, a former co-captain of the Western Alamance High School Dance Team, is featured in a 20-question interview and a 16-photo gallery.
Joyner, a junior majoring in speech and hearing sciences, mentions her family in her game day superstitions: "I always make sure to wave at my family and take pictures with Mom before pre-game," she told SI.com.
She also mentions wanting to skydive with her dad and names her brother, Drew, as someone she'd bring to a desert island.
