Family seeks aid for care of sick daughter

One local family hopes participants at Saturday's Gibsonville Fall Festival will remember one of its youngest members in prayer.

The family of 3-year-old Reagan Allison will set up a booth to raise funds to offset costs related to her treatment.

Reagan's leukemia was diagnosed last year. Since then, she has endured spinal taps, bone marrow biopsies and chemotherapy.

"That's for the treatments, the gas to get there, really anything we need for her," Reagan's mom, Wendy, said.

Reagan has entered year two of a three-year treatment program. She still has to do spinal taps and takes chemotherapy at home and at a clinic.

"Overall, she feels pretty good most of the time," Allison said.

This is the second year the family has set up the booth. Last year, they raised "a couple thousand" dollars and they hope to do at least that this year, Allison said.

Reagan's booth, "Remember Me in Prayer," will be on Main Street. There will be games with prizes, children's crafts, face painting, baked goods and crafts for sale. Raffle tickets will also be on sale and the family is also accepting donations.

The Gibsonville Merchants Association's 21st annual Fall Festival is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday downtown.
