  • be delivered to the county board no later than
  • Oct. 15 (20 days before the election).
  • If you submit a registration form by mail and you have never registered to vote in Guilford County, you must send (with the application) a copy of a valid photo ID or a government document showing your name and address. If you do not provide this information, you will be required to provide identification on Election Day.
  • Registration may be submitted by mail to Guilford County Board of Elections, P.O. Box 3427, Greensboro, NC 27402, or the High Point office, P.O. Box 698, High Point, NC 27261.

What are the deadlines?

  • By mail: The form must be postmarked by Oct. 10 (25 days before the election).
  • By fax or hand-delivery: The form must be received no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 10.

How do I change my information?
Contact the Board of Elections if you:

  • Have moved within Guilford County since you registered in the county
  • Have changed your name
  • Want to change your party affiliation
  • You can change your address, name or party by filling out the back of your voter information card and returning it to the elections office or by filling out a mail-in registration form. This information must be received by registration deadlines for elections. Also, report of a change of address within Guilford County may be submitted by fax as long as a permanent copy of the completed and signed form is delivered to the elections office no later than Oct. 15 (20 days before the election).

What if I moved and forgot to update my records?
On Election Day, go to your old precinct and fill out an Election Day transfer form. Take the form to your new precinct and you will be allowed to vote. Another option: You can go to an early voting site, change your address and vote there.

If you miss the deadline
Potential voters can register after Oct. 10 at an early voting location, but they'll be required to cast a ballot during early voting and will not be allowed to register or vote on Nov. 4. Early voting begins from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 16-17 at:

  • Old Courthouse, 301 W. Market St., Greensboro
  • Washington Terrace Park, 101 Gordon St., High Point
  • See additional early voting sites and times on a Google map
