EDEN - Rep. Nelson Cole will discuss jobs and the economy during an event Friday at Bojangles.

According to a news release from the N.C. Democratic Party, the event is a "call for ending failed Bush-McCain Policies That Continue to Ship Our Jobs Overseas."

The state has lost 24,000 jobs since December 2007, according to the release. Of those jobs, 17,500 were manufacturing.

Eden resident Gloria Craven, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention, also will speak at the event, scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Bojangles on South Van Buren Road.
