RALEIGH (AP) - The North Carolina House is interested in letting voters see what they do every day without having to show up in person.
House Speaker Joe Hackney said Monday he's established a study committee to examine the feasibility of televising floor sessions live. He wants a report before the Legislature reconvenes in January.
Hackney said airing floor debate would open up the legislative process more and give people better knowledge of what goes on in Raleigh.
The Senate and House already provides audio feeds of their floor sessions and some committee meetings.
A spokeswoman for Senate leader Marc Basnight says the Senate has made no decision whether to formally study airing their own sessions.
