Guilford educator finalist for St. Louis job

Monday, September 8, 2008

A Guilford County Schools administrator is a finalist for the superintendent of the St. Louis Public Schools.

Eric Becoats is the district's chief of staff and had been co-superintendent in Guilford County Schools until the district hired Maurice "Mo" Green.

Other candidates for the St. Louis job are Kelvin Adams, currently the chief of staff for the Recovery School District in New Orleans, and Donnie Evans, most recently the superintendent of the Providence (R.I.) City Public Schools.

The Special Administrative Board of the St. Louis Public Schools named the candidates today on its Web site. The St. Louis district is holding a forum Tuesday night for the community to meet the finalists. Each of the candidates will also spend Tuesday in St. Louis visiting schools and meeting with district and community leaders.
