RALEIGH — A Greensboro woman has been charged in connection with three slip-and-fall incidents at retails stores in Rowan County.

The N.C. Department of Insurance said investigators arrested Lakasha Delshonne Evans, 34, of 2303-A Phillips Ave., on Thursday. She was charged with three counts of obtaining property by false pretense, then released from the Guilford County jail on a written promise to appear in court on Oct. 10.

According to the insurance department, Evans confessed to staging falls at Walmart, Pier I and Dollar General stores in Rowan County between Nov. 2006 and Sept. 2007. The state said she received $12,000 in compensation for her alleged injuries.
