Loaner rods at Country Park

(Updated 6:05 am)

Anglers fishing in either of two 7.5-acre lakes at Country Park in Greensboro can borrow free loaner rods and reels on a first-come, first-serve basis now that the park has joined the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission's Tackle Loaner Program. The program works just like a library. While the program is geared toward children under 16, anyone interested in fishing can participate. Anglers under 16 must have a parent or guardian complete the registration form. The two lakes have bass, bluegill, crappie, yellow perch and catfish. For info, call the park office at 373-3648.
