GOLF

Clinics for kids and junior golfers: Clinics will run each Wednesday with clinics for beginning golfers and kids ages 7-10 years old 9:30-10:30 a.m. Clinics for intermediate golfers and ages 11-16 from 11 a.m.-noon. Cost is $15 per clinic. Ending date is Aug. 19. Information: 454-4912.

Jared Austin & Children's Fund annual tournament: 7:30 a.m. April 24, Country Hills Golf Course. Entry fee is $200 per team. Hole sponsors are $150 each. Raffle tickets are available now through the day of the tournament. All proceeds from the raffle tickets will go to benefit cancer survivor Alex Ingle. Wyndham Championship looking for volunteers (holes 15-16-17-18): August 16-22, hole marshals and hospitality suite/sky box marshals. Work inside the ropes and close to the world's best PGA golfers. For a cost of $45, you'll receive two season tickets, a golf cap, a golf shirt, a poncho, a back pack, free parking, free meals and beverages on the days you choose to work, plus be invited to the volunteer party and orientation. RUNNING

SOCCER

Youth clinic: Girls and boys, ages 5-18 are invited to attend a soccer clinic from 1-4:30 p.m. April 18 at the UNCG HHP Building, 1408 Walker Ave., Greensboro.  There will also be a chance to meet All-American soccer player, four-time NCAA champion, Olympic gold and silver medalist, two-time World Cup champion and Duke assistant women's soccer coach, Carla Beck. Participants can also purchase reduced rate tickets to the awards dinner that evening. Clinic tickets are $40 per child and pre-registration is required.
