Krispy Kreme to expand into Malaysia
WINSTON-SALEM -- Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. plans to develop about 20 stores in Malaysia during the next five years.
The company said today that it has reached a franchise agreement with Berjaya Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Sdn Bhd in Malaysia for the development. Berjaya Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Sdn Bhd is a 70 percent owned subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Berhad (BCorporation).
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in a news release.
Last week, Krispy Kreme announced plans for the development of about 25 retail locations during the next five years in Istanbul, Turkey.
