Hospital to hold bone marrow donor drive

GREENSBORO — Moses Cone Health System will hold a bone marrow donor drive next week at Wesley Long Community Hospital.

The event will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. During the drive, people will swab the inside of their mouth to collect DNA. Persons must be between 18 and 60 to take part. There is no need to draw blood.

People who take part in the drive will be listed on the National Marrow Donor Program Registry. There is no cost to join the registry.

Bone marrow transplants are used to treat leukemia, lymphoma and other life-threatening diseases.
