WINSTON-SALEM — Police said they have arrested a second person in connection with a motel break-in that injured a local man.
Winston-Salem police said they served a warrant on Quinton Lamar Mallett, 21, of 2519 Amherst St. today, who was being held in the Forsyth County jail on an unrelated charge. The new charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon came with a $15,000 increase in his bond.
Police said they are looking for a third person: Cyrus Pierre Jackson, 19, of 1590 Hope Lane, who they say was involved in the May 28 incident at a local motel.
According to police, Jonathan Joyner of Winston-Salem was in a room at the Motel 6 at 3810 N. Patterson with a woman he had met earlier. When he heard a knock on the door, he didn't answer the door and instead locked it. But someone outside broke a window, and a man climbed into the motel room.
The man unlocked the door and allowed several other people to come in the room. Joyner escaped into the parking lot. One suspect chased him with a pistol. Joyner tried to grab the handgun but was hit in the head. The suspects fled in Joyner's vehicle.
That same night, police arrested Eunice Sarahi Rosales, 16, of 1720 Rockford St. She was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, and her bond was set at $150,000.
