Man treated for stab wound

Thursday, August 7, 2008

GREENSBORO — A man was treated at Moses Cone Hospital on Wednesday night after he was stabbed in the chest during a robbery attempt.

Greensboro police said they were called to the hospital at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday to talk to William Remore. A police news release did not list his age or address.

According to police, Remore said he was walking along South Elm-Eugene Street earlier Wednesday night when two men approached him and asked for his cell phone. When Remore said he did not have a cell phone, one of the men stabbed him in the chest with an unknown weapon. Both men ran off without taking anything.

A passerby took Remore to Moses Cone, where he was treated and released Wednesday night. Police said they could not find a crime scene.

Anyone with information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
