Man arrested in High Point animal abuse case
HIGH POINT - A man wanted by High Point authorities in a highly-publicized animal abuse case was arrested this afternoon following tip to Crimestoppers.
Jack McCall Jr., 36 of an unknown address was wanted in connection with a February animal abuse case involving the kicking and throwing of four dogs chained in the back yard of a home at 303 Whittier Ave.
The abuse was captured on video by a neighbor, who turned it over to several local media outlets.
Police arrested McCall just after 3 p.m. this afternoon at 903 Thissell St., according to a news release.
McCall first tried to hide his identity, but later admitted who he was after questioning, police said.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the High Point Police Department for questioning and processing.
McCall faces three counts of cruelty to animals and one count each of failure to appear in court, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.
He was placed in the Guilford County jail in High Point on a $92,000 bond.
