RALEIGH (AP) — The Libertarian candidate for governor has been invited to join Republican Pat McCrory and Democrat Beverly Perdue in a televised debate.

Mike Munger said he was asked to participate in the Oct. 15 gubernatorial debate in Charlotte.

The Duke University professor had complained he wasn't invited to join Perdue and McCrory for the five debates in which the pair had agreed to participate. But now he's been asked to participate in the Charlotte event, sponsored by two TV stations and the League of Women Voters.

Munger said he's pleased voters will get to hear another viewpoint besides the Democrats and Republicans.

Munger still wants to participate in the three remaining debates. McCrory and Perdue already met last month in Atlantic Beach.
