GREENSBORO -- The recognizable names keep promising to play the Wyndham Championship.

Tournament officials said Thursday that David Duval has committed to play North Carolina's oldest annual PGA tournament.

The one-time top-ranked player in the world and 2001 British Open winner pledged to join a crowded field. It already was expected to include Vijah Singh, the world's 15th-ranked player, and Rocco Mediate, the U.S. Open runner-up who took Tiger Woods to a 19th playoff hole.

Defending champion and 2007 rookie of the year Brandt Snedeker says the big names are coming to the tournament because of the challenging course at its new home.

The tournament was moved across Greensboro to the Donald Ross-designed layout at Sedgefield Country Club after three decades at Forest Oaks.
