2 teens shot; 4 arrested
WINSTON-SALEM - Two teens were found shot Friday night in the 3700 block of Prospect Drive. Police arrested four people, including two from Greensboro.
Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department responded about 9 p.m. to a report of a shooting. Reginald Juan Jackson, 17, was shot in the neck. Jamaz Vincent Williams, 15, was shot in the lower back. Both of their injuries were life-threatening, police said, and both were taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Officers responding to the shooting stopped a Ford Explorer at Page Street and Carver School
Road that was reported to be involved in the shooting. Four people were arrested:
- Matthew James Quentin Wharton, 19, of 7030 Maple Park Lane, Charlotte
- Matthew Raymond Mitchell, 19, of 5132 Elizabeth Road, Charlotte
- Reginald Lamont Funderburk, 21, of 3237 Yanceyville Road, Greensboro
- Kourtney Donnell Crews, 20, of 1401 Cunningham Road, Greensboro
All were charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and held under $500,000 bond.
Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department recovered handguns in the yards of residences in the 4000 block of Carver School Road that appear to be related to case.
