Farmers markets overflowing with fresh, local veggies

Thursday, July 17
(updated 8:07 am)

Looking for something to do this weekend? Rockingham County is the place to be.

The farmers markets in Reidsville and Wentworth should have an abundance of fruits and vegetables. With the scare of salmonella in the news lately, shopping at your local farmers market gives you the peace of mind of knowing where your veggies come from.

Wine is in the spotlight this weekend with a wine-tasting tonight at The Front Porch in Eden featuring the wines of Autumn Creek Winery of Mayodan. A grand opening celebration of the winery, “Party in the Vines,” is planned for Saturday.

And catch the midnight premiere of “Batman: The Dark Knight” at Rockingham Theatre tonight.
