Summerfield's new athletic advisory committee can't get rolling until it gets its members in place.
The town is seeking applicants for the committee, which is charged with helping develop property purchased last year for athletic fields.
Town Manager Michael Brandt said in a press release that the ideal applicant will have experience "in large-scale construction ... or those who have knowledge or experience in running athletic programs in a non profit or government environment."
Miller Landscape Architecture is overseeing design development of the 28-acre property, and members of the advisory committee will meet with the company to develop a draft plan to present to the town council and public.
With feedback, the committee will work to prepare final documents to be used in the bidding process for construction of the fields.
"The committee will also oversee the construction of the park and develop rules and regulations for running the facilities and leasing the fields to various athletic organizations," the press release states.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the committee should contact Brandt at 643-8655 or mbrandt@summerfield-nc.com.
