The High Point Museum is embarking on a fundraising campaign - CHAIR-ity Begins at Home - to support the upcoming furniture exhibition, High Point's Furniture Heritage, which will open in May.
The campaign is open to everyone involved in every aspect of the furniture industry: veneer, design, photography, upholstery and market.
"This is a way for everyone past and present to be recognized in this exhibit," said Barbara Taylor, High Point Museum president.
"This industry was built with the hands of so many in our community, and each job was as important as the next."
Donations will help with the installation and construction of the exhibition, which will include interactive elements, photographs, memorabilia, machinery and furniture. The exhibition will examine the history of the relationship between the furniture industry and the people of High Point.
Donations may be made in honor of your favorite furniture worker. Each honoree will be recognized in the exhibition. Donors of $25 or more will be sent a commemorative certificate to acknowledge their honoree.
To participate in CHAIR-ity Begins at Home, send a check along with the name of the honoree as it needs to be listed in the exhibition. Note CHAIR-ity in the memo line and make the check payable to the High Point Museum, 1859 E. Lexington Ave., High Point, NC 27262, by Sept. 30.
