81-year-old woman charged with punching police officer
GREENSBORO - An 81-year-old Greensboro woman was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly punching a police officer in the face.
Greensboro police were investigating an assault at 2700 Buchanan Road about 7 p.m. when Mildred Richardson Morris, of the same address, allegedly assaulted officer Sheila A. Lennox-Spaulding by punching her twice in the face, according to arrest warrants.
Warrants state Morris was "extremely intoxicated, unsteady on her feet and was engaging with neighbors aggresively."
Morris was charged with one count of assault on a government official.
She was issued a $100 bond and booked at the Guilford County jail in Greensboro.
