TRINITY -- Authorities in Randolph County are investigating a "homemade type explosive" that was found in a driveway.
The person who found the device on Friday took it to the Guil-Rand Fire Station No. 39 at 6258 Welborn Road in Trinity. The address where the device was originally found was not disclosed in a news release.
The sheriff's office responded along with the State Bureau of Investigation. A remote controlled robot rendered the device safe.
