REIDSVILLE — Four incumbents held onto their positions on the Reidsville City Council on Tuesday .
In the election's only truly competitive race, in which four candidates ran for two seats in District B, the incumbents took the race from two challengers.
In unofficial results from the Rockingham County Board of Elections, Joan Zdanski won with 420 votes, and Clark Turner followed with 392 votes .
Neither Turner nor Zdanski could be reached by telephone Tuesday evening.
District B losers were Caldwell "Bubba" Hobbs with 303 votes and Walter King with 190 votes.
Both congratulated the winners, but King said some confusion at polling places had him riled.
King said he had heard about some voters who had to drive to different polling stations than they expected to go to or had to drive to Wentworth to make sure they had paperwork to vote .
"I think it stinks, and I'm not going to just let it go," he said. "And I'm not a sore loser, either."
Poll workers said Tuesday that if voters were in the wrong place, they were directed to their correct polling stations.
Since 2005, Reidsville's polling places have been reduced from six to three.
In Reidsville District A, the two incumbents running unopposed for two seats were re-elected: John H. Henderson , with 228 votes, and George Otis Rucker , with 239 votes.
Voter turnout was 12 percent in District A, with 467 of 3,819 registered voters showing up, and 28 percent in District B with 1,305 of 4,556 registered voters turning out.
Some voters were unhappy with the lack of candidates, especially in District A.
"I like for it to be a more democratic election," District A
voter Barbara Chestnut
said after leaving her polling place at Moss Elementary School.
Reidsville residents were the only ones voting in Rockingham County on Tuesday.
Election Day for Eden, Madison, Mayodan, Stoneville and Wentworth is Nov. 6.
