GREENSBORO Students at Grimsley High School are facing tighter security after a student reported being assaulted Thursday while in a school bathroom.

Greensboro police and school officials are investigating the incident and at this time they consider the incident unprovoked, said Chad Campbell, spokesman for Guilford County Schools.

Police officials and Grimsley administrators did not return calls Friday seeking details.

This is the second incident of assault at Grimsley this week. Three students were charged Wednesday with assault inflicting serious bodily injury in an attack on another student Monday, according to police.

Campbell said Grimsley has restricted movement in the school: not allowing hall passes during classes, supervising students in lunch areas, and increasing police and administrative presence on campus. A recorded telephone message was sent to parents Thursday evening.

Grimsley also has offered a reward for information leading to the student's attacker and will discipline students who don't follow the restrictions or are involved in fights, Campbell said.
