NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Jason Arnott scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Nashville Predators to a 4-1 preseason victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.
The Predators' first goal was scored when Jean-Pierre Dumont found Arnott in the slot. Arnott fired a quick wrist shot that beat Carolina goalie John Grahame to his stick side at 18:07 of the second period.
The Hurricanes (2-1-0) tied the game on the power play at 9:02 of the third period when Justin Williams punched in a rebound past Predators goalie Chris Mason.
With the Predators (3-1-0) playing short-handed, Arnott hit Vernon Fiddler with a pass as he skated low in the slot to beat Grahame to his right side at 10:42 of the third.
Matt Ellison scored for the Predators at 13:01, and Janne Niskala closed the scoring at 16:50.
Mason played all three periods for the Predators, stopping 36 of 37 shots. Grahame stopped 26 of 30 shots.
