WENTWORTH — Two days after the alcohol-related death of her sister, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office alleges that Taylor Moseley, 16, of Stokesdale, was involved in a robbery of a Madison man over $250 in marijuana.
Moseley and two others were being held in Rockingham County Jail Monday evening on a $100,000 bond each, the sheriff's office said.
The other two arrested were Justin Franklin Malloy, 17, of 501 Lauren Road, Stokesdale, and Michael Kelly Hodgin, 19, of 9023 Kelly Lee Court, Stokesdale.
Dean Venable, spokesman for the sheriff's office, said that about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 19, Moseley, Hodgin and Malloy assaulted Michael Wayne Neugent, 18, of 160 Sky Drive, Madison.
Venable said that Neugent was struck in the head with a pistol, and then ran away. Shots were fired from the assailants, Venable said, causing Neugent to believe that he had been shot.
"Upon further investigation they found it wasn't a gunshot," Venable said, though Neugent was bleeding heavily.
Hodgin, Malloy and Moseley were all arrested Monday, Venable said.
They all were charged with one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Venable said one more arrest is expected.
Moseley's sister, Emily Susan Moseley, 19, of Stokesdale, had died two days before the alleged robbery when she was thrown from the backseat of a car in which Taylor Moseley was also riding.
The driver of that car, Richard Farlon Oakley, 18, of Stokesdale, was charged last week with driving while impaired and careless and reckless driving.
Moseley's father, Terry Moseley, 52, of Stokesdale, was also charged with citations related to providing alcohol to underage individuals earlier on Aug. 16 — which he later denied.
On Aug. 16, officials said, Terry Moseley, his two daughters and Oakley took a trip to Greensboro, where Terry Moseley bought four mini bottles of liquor.
Shortly after the visit to the ABC store, Alcohol Law Enforcement Officials said, the teenagers began drinking and took the prescription medication Xanax.
After lunch, the Moseley sisters and Oakley left Terry Moseley, officials said, and they went to a party hosted in Walnut Cove by Stephen Dale McBride, 52, Sandra McBride 45, and their son, Stephen Lee McBride, 21.
At the party, officials said, the Moseley sisters and Oakley had beer and vodka, and took Xanax.
The McBrides were later charged in connection to giving alcohol to the teenagers.
After leaving the party about 11:30 p.m. to go back to Stokesdale, Oakley got lost, officials said. About 12:30 a.m. Aug. 17, Oakley lost control of his car in Stokesdale, it flipped, and Emily Moseley was thrown form the car and killed.
