RF Micro Devices wants $1.03 million from Guilford County taxpayers for a project that could bring 300 jobs to the area, according to a legal notice.
The Greensboro microchip maker will ask the county commissioners for the economic incentives Sept. 6.
If approved, it would be the fifth time since 1999 the board has offered money to the company, which wants to spend $103 million on a microchip wafer factory.
The Greensboro City Council unanimously approved $1.2 million for the project this month.
