Teens charged with stealing $20,000 in guitars

Three teenagers have been arrested and charged with stealing $20,000 worth of guitars in Alamance County, authorities said.

Eighteen guitars, two amplifiers and a speaker were stolen from a warehouse belonging to Don's Music City on N.C. 62 South in Burlington, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

The guitars were taken over several months, deputies said.

The three charged were: Steven Shane Jernigan, 17, of 2014 Trail Two, Apt. 8-I, in Burlington; Jeramy Ray Roche Champion, 17, of 3680 Freeman Lane in Elon; and Cody Allen Buzzell, 16, of 2104 Northcrest Drive in Elon.

All three were charged with counts of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Jernigan also faces two charges of larceny by employee.

A 15-year-old boy is also expected to be charged as a juvenile in the case.

All of the guitars has been or will be returned to the store's owner.
