KERNERSVILLE - A teacher from High Point has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a student, police said.
In June, officers began investigating an incident involving inappropriate behavior between a student and a teacher that took place at Southeast Middle School in Forsyth County, Kernersville police said.
Investigators discovered the incident took place during the 1999-2000 school year, police said.
Melvin Jerome Fair, 55, was arrested and charged Thursday with taking indecent liberties with a child and taking indecent liberties with a student.
Fair was placed under a $100,000 bond and is in the Forsyth County jail. Further charges are pending, police said.
