The space at 600 S. Elm St. in downtown Greensboro, which was damaged in a fire last fall, the former home of The Undercurrent, has been resurrected as Table 16 Fine
Italian Restaurant. The restaurant is set to open this month, says owner Ben Roberts.
Roberts had moved The Undercurrent to a more spacious downtown location at 327 Battleground Ave. before the fire occurred, but has been working to renovate the South Elm Street space since that time.
Table 16 will serve Northern Italian-style cuisine with an emphasis on fresh ingredients. Roberts has brought in chef Zac Durham from Sharpies in Beaufort to helm the kitchen. The wine list will primarily consist of Italian wines with some American favorites.

For $12, you get Caribbean food, island cocktails and live music.
Market eatery open later
Moose Cafe (2914 Sandy Ridge Road, Greensboro), at the Piedmont Triad Farmer's Market, is now open nightly.
"We feel like we are getting such a good response from our customers ... that we really wanted to be open more to accommodate their schedules," says owner Bill Walker.
The home-style restaurant, which opened recently at the market, is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and serves daily specials such as chicken and dumplings, fried chicken and barbecue, along with lots of corn bread muffins, biscuits and plenty of apple butter.
