Historic mill fire

The old Randolph Mills building in Franklinville was ravaged by fire on Thursday. Nick Walton, 12, whose great-great-grandmother, Florine McCorquodale, worked at the cotton mill, looks over the remains of the mill in eastern Randolph County. The Randolph County Historic Landmark Preservation Commission says the mill was originally built in 1938 and was the second mill constructed in the county. The photo was taken by Jerry Wolford.
