Yankee Rebels?

From photographer Joseph Rodriguez: Yankee Rebels? Really? This team from Maryland (think below the Mason-Dixon Line) wore their logos proudly while traveling to the South, at the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League tournament in War Memorial Stadium today in Greensboro.

The Yankee Rebels are a boys baseball team from Baltimore, MD that was invited to play in the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League tournament. The 16 year old players and their families stayed at hotels in the Greensboro area from Wednesday through Sunday, patronizing local businesses and enjoying their stay in North Carolina. As a parent, I am sorry to see that there are still negative feelings towards the players and families from the "North" because their team name is the Yankee Rebels.
This is 2010 not 1865 and I believe the North and South have united. I also believe the North and the South have a common enemy and a new war in which we are fighting together to battle terrorists.

One nation, under God,
