Some weekend spirit deals

Learn about ten great wines for under $10 at a free tasting from 4 to 8 p.m. today and again from 1 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at Greensboro's own home grown Wine Warehouse (2310 Battleground Ave.; 288-2002). The shop is offering a 15-percent case discount during the tasting.

By the way, owner Mark Lile-King is working on a new section of the shop that will showcase wines that can be purchased two for $20. The 2 for 20 section will debut during a free tasting from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 30.

Mark's other business, Rioja! A Wine Bar (1603 Battleground Ave.; 288-2002), will showcase selections from Napa Valley's Caine Winery starting at 6 p.m. today. Cost is $1 per taste. Enjoy a selection of taps for $5.

Through the end of the month, The Brewer's Kettle (2505 N. Main St.; 885-0099) in High Point is offering 10-percent off six packs of brews such as Smuttynose Winter Ale, Lagunita's Brown Shugga and Indica IPA.
