Mother says son abused dog over fear it would harm newborn

GREENSBORO — The mother of the man accused in the burning and severe beating of a 3-month-old puppy in August said her son abused the dog over fear it would harm his newborn child.

No excuse for this man's behavior! He could have closed the pup in another room, given it to someone else, taken it to a shelter. He CHOSE to abuse this pup because of something in him, not because of something in the pup. Mom needs to stop making excuses.

This young man's mother has made comments similar to those made by family members of the 5-year old girl from Fayetteville whose recent demise can be tied to her mother: "My (family member) wouldn't do something like that." "My (family member) is a good person." Anyone who would treat a puppy in this manner should not be taking care of a defenseless newborn.

The injuries suffered by that puppy were systematic. He took his time torturing the dog. "Losing it" would more likely involve hitting or kicking the puppy a time or two. He is dangerous. Research has proven that people who hurt animals are dangerous to others.
