The newspaper on the TV

At about 5:45 a.m. today, ratings for the Good Morning Show on WFMY plummeted, sending the program director into a frenzy! What the heck happened????!!!!

Watch.

I should have said that readers could find Ed's head in the paper.

(Thanks to Rosemary Plybon for helping a printie deal with broadcast.)

They have a lot of time to fill. If I were really somebody, they wouldn't have put me on before any sane person was awake.

Because TV is a visual medium, I must comment on how you looked like James Taylor, how the scarf was WORKin' and how the seats interestingly hid the fact that you are exactly three feet taller than Rosemary.
Nicely done!

Yes, I've heard of the James Taylor resemblance. Thirty years ago, when I had more hair and a mustache, it was Mark Spitz. Unfortunately, I don't have the former's voice or the latter's athleticism.

Over the years I have been called Jerry Reed. In Boston, Cleveland, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach. No way I could hold a Candle to the great John Robinson. Someone asked me to autograph a picture. I have allways wondered what they thought about the strange name on the picture.

Would it be hard to loose the word "fight"? Peace. Non- violent students changed the world! Today was a special day in Greensboro. The legacy of Peace, Bravery and Understanding were heard.

What was the thinking that went into setting 8:00am for the beginning of festivities. There is a reason for it and I would appreciate knowing what it is.

I'm not positive, but I think they were hoping for national morning television coverage.

Two other reasons that people do early-ish morning events (although I don't know if either apply in this case):

* It lets people who have to work that day attend some of the morning festivities without completely blowing off the day job.

* They had a bunch of dignitaries there (Sen. Hagan, Gov. Perdue, etc...) Generally, pols aren't late for their first appointments of the morning but can fall behind as the day progresses. Early start times means you have a better shot at getting your headliners to the starting gate on time.
