Interesting entry by Ryan Seals at the Crime Scene blog and discussion about the Guilford deputy's shooting of the 17-year-old.
It's a tragedy all around.
To some people, the cop is always wrong in these cases. After all, they say, teen brought only a butcher knife to a gunfight.
But police have told me how much damage a knife can do in short order, especially if someone is angry and irrational.
And how quickly these incidents can unfold.
We won't know all the answers for a while.
But as someone notes, this wasn't Matt Dillon on TV.
Shooting just to wound is not as easy as it seems.
And despite what "The Matrix" tells us, you can't dodge bullets in slow motion, either.
