High Point native Hayworth could test McCain in Arizona

High Point native J.D. Hayworth could give Sen. John McCain a run for his money in a Republican primary next year, a Rasmussen Reports survey says today.

Hayworth is a former Arizona congressman who lost his seat in 2006. He's now a radio talk-show gabber in Phoenix.

Hayworth grew up in High Point, graduated from N.C. State and began a career in sports broadcasting in Raleigh and Greenville, S.C., before heading west.

He's expressed interest in running for McCain's seat but hasn't declared. He definitely would be a challenger from McCain's right.

That I would like very much.
McCain is a great war hero, I have no use for his politics.

Right. He's the Republicans' John Kerry, isn't he?

Both ran lousy campaigns with running mates they picked for looks.

Right as Palin accomplished zip during her time in Alaska. She fought and won against the corrupt good ole boy network in her own party. She didn't just complain, she ran against it and won. She negotiated a great deal with the oil companies for her citizens that got every man, woman, and child an annual payment of $1000-$1500 dollars until the collapse of energy prices.

She took a lifeless, almost dead, boring campaign and helped shoot the poster boy for the RINO's into a lead in the polls in September, which was derailed by the financial collapse, and McCain's pitiful response to it. She outgrw McCain at nearly every campaign event. This despite the attempts by the media to not only defeat her, but destroy her. Why would the left want to destroy such a "lightweight!" She is the Republican most feared by the left today, even as she is a private citizen. Why? Her faith. She hunts. She would not abort a "Downs" child. She is still married to the same man she met in high school. She is to liberalism what a cross is to a vampire. She lives the life she espouses, and that the large majority of Americans espouse. She didn't have to marry to make it to where she has come. And yes, unlike most of her liberal counterparts, she looks great!

JD was always a good host/guest on the conservative talk shows, not quite B-1 Bob Dornan; but not a lightweight either. McCain needs to retire while he is still respected.

I really miss the good olde days, when you ran for a higher office, you resigned your current office.

Good think it's not our election or choice.

I actually like McCain and wouldn't mind seeing him in the Senate for a few more years. The problem is he's 73 now, he'll be 74 at the next election and, if he wins another term, 80 when he completes it. Even though there are older senators, that's still pushing it, in my opinion.

Doug, if you like McCain you likely LOVE Colin Powell, the "Republican" who endorsed, and campaigned for a Marxist president, and really like Dede Scuzzyfatarse, another "Republican" who endorsed her Demo-Rat opponent! Yet these are precisely the kind of "Republicans" that many say are needed to revitalize the party! Oh, I forgot Alan Specter, the very principled Demo-Rat/Republicrat/Demo-Rat/ soon to be former all of those!

Look! Your Homeboy JD got clobber in his last congressional race by a lonesome Dove Democrat. JD is like everyone else, looking for real work and place to sleep at night. I think he might have a career with the Shamwell Towel Guy, Vince as his info salesman..............
