Daughtry gets lost in the AMA shuffle

Did you watch the American Music Awards Sunday night? If you didn't, you probably wouldn't have known that the Triad's own Chris Daughtry and his bandmates (including Greensboro drummer Joey Barnes) sang "Life After You."

The Twitterverse and blogosphere were all abuzz about Janet Jackson's medley, Jennifer Lopez's fall and fellow American Idol alum Adam Lambert's risque antics.

Here's the video of Daughtry's performance. Tell us what you think. Remember, be nice.

I loved the performance. Although I thought the cameraman should have been woke up! He didn't focus on any of the other bandmembers but chris. Daughtry is not a one man band. JP slapping the bass all over the place, Steely with his guitar riffs, Brian singing backups, and Joey looknig fine on the drum set. Why didn't we see that close up? At least Daughtry is not being criticized the monring after for being too risque, or questionable lyrics that you have to sensor from your 13 year old! Each Idol alum is different, Carrie is an ikon in the making in her country genre, and Kelly is still going strong and gotten her second wind. I love Kelly. I think Adam commited music suicide last night. He lost a fan base in my oppinion with his on stage clothed porn. Kudos to Daughtry for keeping it clean and fun, and focusing on the music. What an awesome group of humble, down to earth family men!

D A U G H T R Y - BEST performance of the evening!!! True talent doesn't need costumes, vulgarity, electronically enhanced effects, etc.

Chris' vocals, Joey on the drums and Steely, Brian and JP on the guitar, truly a memorable performance!

Real talent rises above everything else.......
