A simplr solution. Tax all businesses, including religious organizations. Then get out of their way and let the market decide who sinks or swims.

Regarding the tax thing: It has always mystified me how so many churches could be considered "not for profit" by the tax laws when they obviously increase their net worth every year. But that's beside the point here.
$cientology has long been known for milking every dime they could from their followers in the form of "training" in the mysteries of their supernatural claims. Some stories of ruined lives over this crap are heart-breaking. To bad they are so well protected here in America. But if they weren't -- if they had to abide by a minimal standard of business ethics demanded for other profitable entities -- they would be be in deep trouble, along with many other churches and religion-based TV stations around the country.

Non-believers may not subscribe to the myths of other groups in the community -- but we ARE members of the community and have opinions. We often feel like adding our thoughts to the squabble because we think we have ideas worth sharing. Is that unreasonable?
