Downtown 9/11 prayer rally

"Cry Out America" is calling Americans in every county to gather united and pray for the nation at noon today, the anniversary of 9/11.

The following is from Linda Stone, the group's Guilford County coordinator:

We will be gathering on Friday, September 11th - 12-1pm on the Governmental Plaza on Greene Street in Greensboro. Please plan to join us and if you are interested in helping with planning this prayer event - please contact me via email or Phone me daily - 218-8660 x 238 - 9-5.

Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and Cry Out to the Lord - Joel 1:14

Pray for what? And to whom? "Dear God, please don't do another 9/11 to us?"
If your all-knowing all powerful god had the power to affect that kind of change, that means your god allowed 9/11 to happen to us in September 11, 2001. And he chose to allow it to happen, since he sees all, knows all and has the power to intercede via miracles and such.
Don't your prayerful types ever get it?
Aside from the fact that most prayers read like a list to Santa Claus (Dear god, can I please have.....), the rest ask for leadership and guidance and safety and other nice things for the rest of humanity.
Well, look around. Are there fewer floods, famine, wars, holocausts, rape, robbery or even jaywalkers thanks to your prayers? Did anyone's prayers prevent, let alone shorten by one day the horrific suffering of Jaycee Duggan, an innocent child abducted and repeatedly raped and forced to bear and raise two children by her rapist? Do you think the child Jaycee did anything to deserve that?
(Please don't disrespect yourselves by saying something really stupid such as "god works in mysterious ways." Contemplate Jaycee Duggan's hell on earth and your nonsensical retort. In fact, I dare you to make such a tasteless remark to her face.)
By the way, are any of you planning to attend this prayer rally also the same parents who kept your children home from school so they wouldn't have to hear our elected President urge our children to study hard and do well in school? Do any of you who plan to attend truly believe the only way to heaven is the way your particular sect defines salvation, and all the rest of us--regardless of church affiliation or good deeds or whatever are in fact doomed to hell?
And are any of you planning to attend going to actually do anything specifically to make this world better, safer, kinder, more compassionate...or are you just going to pray for it?
Let me know how that works out. I expect a glowing article in Saturday's News & Record about your god's intervention thanks to your prayers.

I mean no disrespect to those who wish to pray on this date... but my humble opinion is that patriotism and nationalism are part of the cause of global terrorism today. If we were simply united as one political federalist entity, allowing sensible local autonomy, there would be no need to military spending, no need for wars, no place for fanatic criminals to hide.

Our first loyalty should e to the human species, not to a limited geo-political entity.

OK, I gave the prayer rally 3 days.
I realize I may be 'jumping the gun' what with expecting a prayer rally to affect God's judgment and plan after only 3 days.
I mean, Jesus died just about 2,000 years ago with a promise to return soon.
So at that rate of exchange, we have a minimum of 2,000+ years to wait for whatever was prayed for at Friday's rally.
Unless, of course, they all got together to pray for the status quo.

So, any news on whether or not those prayers have all been answered?
