Get A Clue

August 19, 2009 - 6:41 am EDT

So, my child should attend a religious rally because maybe he or she will win a prize?
I believe that sends mixed messages about a 'greater power.'
I also read there will be 'special prayers.' As opposed to regular, boring ones?
This blog's author posted a news article about an upcoming prayer rally for children. I don't get it. How all-knowing and all-powerful is your creator if you first have to hold a rally and then make special prayers to get his attention to fix a problem he created? Here in America we simply haul a deadbeat dad before the court and attach his wages.
Instead of wasting time on my knees asking for help from something that doesn't exist I choose to work to make this planet a better place for children. I encourage others to do the same. Believe what you need to about the supernatural, but do something instead of wishing and see how much more progress is achieved.

Get a clue - what is it exactly you are doing to make the world a better place for children - other than post insulting comments on any news article that mentions religion or place of worship?
Why does it bother you so much that the majority of people in this country believe in a higher power? Why does that offend you? Are we not free to worship or not worship as we choose in this country? Is anyone forcing you to read these articles or attend these events?
