Unemployment security audit

Given the tone of the discussion over North Carolina's unemployment security agency (and its $2.6 billion debt to the federal government) (link), a new audit from the State Auditor's Office struck me as interesting.

The auditor looks for "deficiencies," places where an agency fails to follow state or federal bookkeeping guidelines.

The audit, which came out Friday, shows...nothing. It had "no findings," which means the auditor found nothing wrong.

I don't know how this plays into the larger ongoing discussion. The only conclusion I can draw is that while the state has racked up a major debt, it has done it according to the rules.

Of course nothing will be found...dem gov, dem auditor....it's all good! A group that I am affiliated with came across some information about the Democratic NCCU in Durham and passed it on to the authorities and wait for it....absolutely nothing happened. Some people are going to be as sorry as some of the people related to the Penn State incident when it comes out that they knew all about the wrongdoings and did nothing. I'll give a little tidbit here. Did you know NCCU Chancellor Charlie Nelms has been misusing his state issued credit card and according to OSBM regulations this is grounds for termination? It's all here... http://www.change.org/petitions/tell-the-nccu-board-unc-system-president... I guess we can't afford to do anything right now and upset democratic Durham in an election year. Maybe the state would end up red! Hmmmmmmm ;)
