Everytime there is a thunderstorm, Apple hides. I guess the wind, heavy rain and thunder scare her so much, that she'll hide whereever she can find a safe spot.
The other day when it rained, I saw Apple run upstairs, fleeing the noise. And when it came time for the last feeding of the day, and Apple didn't appear, I didn't think of it.
Although when I woke up and Apple was no where to be found did I think there was a problem.
I searched the house for her, and not finding her, I started to call her name. Then I heard a meow coming from our second story bathroom.
It seems she had been locked in there all night. She had sought shelter from the storm in the bathtub, and got shut in. The door was scratched up, and everything was covered in her black hair.
Cats shed when they are nervous, and it was obvious she wasn't happy to be in that tiny bathroom all night. She was hungry when I rescued her, and she begged for my attention the rest of the afternoon.
Sadly, this isn't the first time she's been locked in a room all night. I accidently locked her in our spare bedroom on a night of thunderstorms.
I've gotten into the habit of locating her before I go to bed. I'd rather her not be trapped anywhere over night again.
