House budget schedule
Speaker Thom Tillis just stopped by the press room to give us the House’s scheduled for passing the budget. Here’s what he said:
- Tuesday 4/26: House Finance Committee will hear the budget.
- Wednesday and Thursday 4/27 and 4/28: House Appropriations will hear and take amendments to the budget bill.
- Friday 4/29: The full budget will be published.
- Monday 5/2: Second reading vote.
- Tuesday 5/3: Third reading vote.
After that, the bill goes to the Senate for lawmakers there to take a whack at the tax and spending plan.
