As a Christian I'd tell them not to do it since it only servers to encite and enhance the differences rather than to bring them together. The best thing to do is envite them into their church of worship.

Well, as usual, God will not tell them specifically what to do or not to do, so prayers will be of rather limited utility.
I've been thinking about this event ever since it came out in media reports. Haven't really wrapped my wits around it fully, so I'm glad you brought it up. My first reaction is to wonder whether America hasn't become the Islam-hating place of evil that Osama bin Laden has always accused us of being. Have his attacks changed us into such a people, or did they only bring that characteristic to the surface?
Another thought that I had was that it seems that such hateful acts seem to invariably be done by small fringe groups. They don't seem to represent "normal" America - yet the American media sniffs these stories out and reports them to the world. Makes me wonder about how our media are choosing what to report on and whether they realize they are not really helping.
Finally, I think about the rhetoric that surrounds the whole Muslim community these days. I know many folks who consider all Muslims to be terrorists, just looking for opportunities t fight against and kill "infidels." Perhaps such people would not go so far as to burn Qur'ans, but I have to wonder what they think of these plans, and whether they harbor any misgivings about them. If they do, what might be the nature of the misgivings? Could they feel a conflict between fear/hatred of Muslims and the embarrassment over a bonfire made of books? Or are they mostly concerned about the added danger that would occur when Muslims witness this attack on their religion?
I just don't know what it all means. But I agree with Nancy that it would be most interesting to know what the Prince of Peace would have to say were he to wander into this church to give HIS opinion of their plans.

Iranian media reported that two Qurans where burned in the USA 9-11-2010. Kashmir radio broadcast this and yesterday 15 people were shot dead. Lies kill. Terry Jones should be exiled to preaching to alligators in swamps after causing this human blood at his hands. Maybe he will be inspired to pick up rattlesnakes and kiss them for his healing.
